    Beautiful shot, Lyceel!  On my drive home from work yesterday there was a "v" shaped group of birds flying overhead (I think it was either geese or ducks) but as usual I was at a place where I couldn't stop (on the freeway) Super Angry

    Thanks.  The Canon and its sports mode setting did all of the work.  This was the same burst of shots.

    That IS a nice shot!  Ducks are so hard to photograph in flight (for those of us with P&S cameras, anyway).  I'm surprised you got such clear shots with burst mode, although I think the burst/sports mode on Canon cameras is better quality, as I used to have one.  I now have a Nikon, and the sports/burst mode on that comes out grainy, poor quality.

    I like the Mallard shot.  Very crisp!

    I thought this thread was going to die, but it seems to have a bit more life so I will jump back in with this Crowned Woodnymph.

    Just took the time to go thru all the shots here.....just a fabulous collection!  I never tire of "in Flights".....

    Here's a "long distance" one of Mergansers taking off from Lake Michigan (about two weeks ago)....
