Scroll to the top of the screen click on your user name. Seven tabs appear as follows: Signature and Bio= Signature is a line of text appearing at bottom of posts like a quote or life list #s. Bio is about you age, etc. About=You fill in the blanks with your personal/professional information. You can add website, blog, and image gallery address links here. Avatar=here's where you upload or add an image to your profile that appears on every post you make. You can add one from your PC or copy and paste one from the web into the bottom box where the word "user" appears. Email=you select your email options .Site Options=let's you check your preferences. Password and Statistics=use this when you want to change your password. Favorites=let's you add and follow favorite threads like an ongoing thread about photo editing.
After you click on your user name to the right of the tabs you'll see text links for "Options" "My Blog" and "My Gallery." If you tried to set up a photo gallery and couldn't find it, then the link or name should appear here under "My Gallery." If you have an outside blog you'd like to link just copy and paste the web address into your about me section. Same goes for Gallery. If you already have an account on Picasa, Kodak, Photobucket, etc. then just copy and past the link to your preferred account into your about me.
To place a photo into your post directly from the web use the tree icon at the top of the compose window to copy and paste the web link address into the box. You'll have to right click to copy and paste the web address from wherever you're copying the image you want - just try adding a byline like "photo courtesy of wikipedia.com" so nobody has a copyright fit.
To upload a photo from your PC, the size of it has to be less than 640 KB, if it's larger you'll have to edit it first. While in compose mode with your post, scroll up to the "Options" tab and then click on add/update photo. Search for the image on your PC then click double click on it to add. It should upload then scroll down after it's loaded and click on save and it should post to your message. If you want to add more text or edit your message again then just click on the "edit" icon.
Remember a couple of things, you can't load more than two web site links onto a post, or add too many images (two), or a combination of both otherwise you'll get a pop up message saying your post has to be approved by the moderator.
And, if you need help identifying a bird try to remember post the information in the Help me identify section with the information about where, what city and state, time of year, when you saw the bird, what the bird was doing, field marks you can describe, color, size, shape, and try to post your question w/ a photo when possible.
