Thank you- I agree pretty much.  BTW, the parrot on my ID is my own - he's the reason I started getting interested in birds - I've had him 8 yrs and he's like a child to me!

Any votes for the Andean Condor as the ugliest zoo bird photo - oui, oui?

Hey, I think I've seen that guy!  Would that be the San Diego Zoo?

No not SD Zoo but the Atlanta Zoo last year. Your photo is so much better obviously. I thought the flap of skin on the head in my photo looked like a beret. See those funky holes that look like ears? OMG  the bird emits weird gaseous sounds every few minutes out of those holes that I thought were ears but they're not ears. The purpose and function are gross ... nevermind.

I've looked in lots of articles online and see nothing as to what purpose and function these holes serve ?

    Re: The ugliest bird ever

A month or so ago some neighbors came by and asked if I wanted to get my camera and get some shots of the turkey vultures in the woods across from their house. There were at least five that we saw.

And this duck has to be in the running as well. He followed me around and bit me on the calf when I went to take a photo of one of the prettier ducks.
