    Re: Shut yer yap!

Looks like breeding male and juvenile European Starlings if I had to guess. Never seen 'em nesting, much less in a saguaro like that, so definitely a nice shot!

    Total birds seen: 217
    Latest lifers:
Wilson's Snipe, Barred Owl, Eastern Meadowlark
    Favorite lifers:
Black-billed Cuckoo, Reddish Egret, Wood Stork

    Re: Shut yer yap!

I typically label my pictures with the name of the bird using the American Ornithological Union alpha code.

Sad part about this picture is that European Starlings are displacing cavity nesters in Arizona.

That's a good idea, using alpha coding.  I may start doing that.

    Re: Shut yer yap!

Nice shot - I've thought of starting a thread on what we think the birds are saying or caption this picture - this one would be a good picture for that!
New for 2010: horned lark, prairie falcon, red-necked grebe, bewick's wren, snow bunting

Not at all!  I'm just jealous...I was all excited about my first Hoodie pics from this past weekend too...due to the distance they'll need some serious cropping...and the females only seemed to want to show their "south" end going "north"... sigh. Stick out tongue
