    Too easy?

    If I didn't know what I was taking pictures of at the time, I don't think I could have easily made an ID from this pic. It might be too obvious for some, but it might be fun for other newbies like myself.

    I missed this post first time around. Looks like a Common Grackle mama feeding her young'n.
    We did not inherit Mother Earth from our ancestors...... we have borrowed Her from our descendants.

    I think it probably is too easy, lyceel. I suspect that the majority know the answer and just don't want to spoil it for those that don't. If I had of asked for those that KNOW to just post "too easy" as their answer, the page would probably be full with lots of two word replies by now...LOL

    For those of you that weren't sure, yes, they are common grackles.

    I'm really, really new at this. I thought grackles had yellow eyes.

    Adult Grackles do have yellow eyes. However, juveniles have dark eyes, sometimes throughout their first year of life. In the 1st photo above, the young Grackle is being fed by its Mama, whose eye is not visible in the photo. In the 2nd picture, you can see the yellow of the adult females eye as she is flying away.
