The bird was photographed in LA county in the early morning. Although this bird has many of the features of an Anna's hummingbird, it has an unusual head shape that is different. It sort of has a "crest" which is hard to see in the photo. I have attached another photo and the bird in question is on the right and you can sort of see the "crest". The bird does not have red on the throat - that is an artifact in the first photo. It also has a white spot behind the eye that seems different than the Anna's white spot.
