It would be helpful to note that Wilson's Snipe can be heard "winnowing" long after dark (I recently listened to 3 or 4 after midnight). The "Winnowing" sound is also similar to the sound of a Boreal Owl.
Yes, I mistook them for Boreal Owl until I investigated further.
