I'm such an idiot - posted my request for help to identify a bird to the 'how to use the forum' duh! Anyway, it's a bird that looks just like a purple finch or house finch except it's all blue with a few grayish/brown streaks on it like a finch. The color of blue is a medium blue, not a bright blue like an indigo blue, just a plain old blue. I believe the beak was black or gray, not as thick as a grosbeak but like a finch. Same finch size. Tail same as a finch. I looked at every bird picture that is blue and haven't seen this exact bird. It was on my feeder, husband is a witness and forced observer, and he says he's seen it once before. I watch my feeders all the time and this is the first time I've EVER seen a bird like this. Can you help me id it? Thanks for suggestions. It was NOT an indigo bunting, bluebird, mountain bluebird, or warbler.
