I did a search for Birding Adventures and couldn't find it.  What are the details on that show?

    Re: What Magazines?

I saw that show once.  I have DirecTV, so I get it, but I had never seen it before because Fox Sports is way up in the 600's.  I had forgotten about it, so thanks for reminding me!

When I told my mom about my new bird watching hobby, she ordered two magazines for me.  One was Bird Watcher's Digest, which is a great one to read.  I don't have a whole lot of extra time, so the small size is perfect for me.  The other magazine turned out to be a pet bird magazine, so I don't really read it.  I can't complain, though (it's the thought that counts, right?)

    Re: What Magazines?

Audubon Magazine is, in my opinion, the best birding magazine. It's a fantastic magazine regardless of the fact that it's about birds, but the birding just makes it better.

I also get Birder's World or something like that.

    Re: What Magazines?

LOL. Audubon magazine is free w/paid membership, and they send the Christmas Bird Count directory. I've read Bird Watcher's Magazine and Bird Watcher's Digest, Backyard Bird, Butterflies & Blooms, and Butterflies & Birds, but I don't subscribe to them, I buy them at a bookstore. I suscribe to Podcasts, and I settle for reruns on Animal Planet or watch PBS's Nature. I use Cornell Lab only when I can't find it or these web pages: National Geographic for newsletters: http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birds.html ; Sibley's plus botanical IDs: www.enature.com ; Domestic Geese: http://www.domestic-waterfowl.co.uk/index.htm; and bird songs/calls www.birdjam.com or www.naturesongs.com

some of my favorite stuff is on the internet, try this link out

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujN4osRD22E

There are other short David Attenborough films on birds that are amazing.  He actually called in a woodpecker on one.  Type in his name on youtube and you will be entertained with some of the best birding stuff around.

    Re: What Magazines?

I would have responded but I don't subscribe to any birding or bird magazines.  I really don't have time to read, which is the reason why.  However, I'm looking into joining the Audubon Society and will then get their monthly magazine (I think it's monthly)
