can you help me identify these chicks?

These babies were in a nest above our porch light under the eave of our front entrance last spring. Can you help me indentify them?

Going by the nest style, they look like Eastern Phoebes. Where are you located?

Since you're in Arkansas then they're more then likely Eastern Phoebes, did you ever see the adults??

Nope they always flew off before we could get a good look. I do know at the same time we heard the chicks we saw a scruffy looking dark brown bird hanging around the deck near the nest area but never saw it go to the nest. Once the babies fledged the nest was empty for quite a while.

"Scruffy dark brown bird" sounds a lot like an Eastern Phoebe to me, so I bet that's your bird!

Yep - Featherbrain said it best.

Wow Featherbrain - you're quick with these ID's (and you're always right...)!
