    New hummingbird to my feeder

This lil fellow has visted several times in the last couple of days. Ive never seen one with such vibrant color and he makes the oddest sound. What is he? The only kind I usually get are the little ruby throated.

I have searched all evening. The closest thing I found was a berylline hummer. But hes not supposed to be anywhere near me.

Very good find.  And very good pic!!

They are a specialty hummer.  You can really only find them in south Texas.  High on any big birders list.

Definitely a Buff-bellied Hummingbird, and definitely a great photo, too!!! It looks identical to the picture in my book, which is in the Special Collection section. Very nice, indeed! Way to go, Deborah!!
