Hi Radwoman,

That's one very interesting bird.  I was trying to make it an immature Blue Grosbeak but it just doesn't seem quite right.  Do you know where and when it was taken?

Beautiful birds indeed. Here is a shot of one that I captured a couple of weeks ago at Leeds Castle.

Yep that sure is a Chaffinch very common bird in New zealand as well as Europe
