Both of these photos were taken in low light so they are pretty dull.  The first is some sort of hawk, and the second some sort of woodpecker. Both taken in SW Virginia.

Don't see the woodpecker, but I believe I can see the belly-band of a red-tailed hawk for your raptor.

The only photo I see is of the hawk, which is a Red-tailed.

Kinda hard to tell on the woodpecker with the angle and poor light. But it looks like either a Hairy or Downy to me.... nothing to guage the size by, but my gut feeling is Hairy Woodpecker.

Hmmm.... tough one...    I don't think it's a downy or hairy.  I believe I see a hint of yellow-ish color on the one picture, and the other from the back shows a different pattern than the downy/hairy does.  My initial reaction was a yellow-bellied sapsucker, but there's no red...  so I would say it's a female yellow-bellied sapsucker.

I have no idea but I reduced the shadows in the pics that may help others

Thanks for the id. I have Downeys in my yard all year and this was definately not one. It was much larger and the pattern on the back didn't fit either. I thought it was a sapsucker, but wasn't sure.  Thanks again for the help.

Get some suet feeders and suet, they will love it! ( The sap sucker that is).
