    Is this a Scarlet Tanager?

    That bright patch is sunshine but it's also some yellow.

    Definitely a Scarlet tanager.

    It most definitely is a male Scarlet Tanager. If the light isn't playing tricks on us, than you have yourself the orange morph of this beautfiul bird.

    Oh no, Ephily, the light is not playing tricks on you/us he was most definitely the most brilliant shade of orange I have seen in a bird.  I got a glimpse of him this morning in my binoculars and I hoped he would come back by on his way "home" and thankfully he did.   I hope I get to see a lot more of the Tanagers   Big Smile.

    I just spotted my first Scarlet Tanager yest. The color was so vivid it made it easy to id. Beauties indeed.
