    Re: Two Yellow Birds

The warbler on the upper right is certainly a Yellow; the one on the lower left suggests a Wilson's judging by the face, but the tail looks more like a Yellow so it's likely it's a female Yellow accompanying the male, but it's hard to be 100% sure from angle of the picture which doesn't show the top of the head.

The kingbird looks like a Western Kingbird.  I'm pretty sure I see white outer tail feathers in that first picture, and the bill isn't nearly large or heavy enough for a Tropical Kingbird.  Plus, as you pointed out, you are way out of range for a Tropical Kingbird, in fact, while they are extremely common in central America, you're lucky to see one in the U.S. even in their very limited range in south Texas.

    Re: Two Yellow Birds

Here's a photo of a Tropical Kingbird taken in May 2007 in Big Bend NP in Texas.  Look at the size of the bill, long tail which is also notched, absent outer white tail feathers, and yellow color almost up to the throat. A quite different bird from yours.

    purplepain:
The second bird I am very sure was a Tropical Kingbird. I COULD be wrong, but me and my husband both heard the call several times through out the afternoon and it was identical to the Tropical Kingbird call. The reason I am surprised is because we live Northern Utah...and it seems out of range for this bird.

    This is a Western Kingbird.

    Re: Two Yellow Birds

It looks to me like it might be a ghost bird.....such fine ethereal color too though it is a little difficult to see in the pics!
