    Need verification on bunting

I'm almost postitive that this is a immature Indigo Bunting. Is that correct? I've been positive before and been 100% wrong.  Embarrassed

    I'd say that's what you've got there

    Re: Need verification on bunting

I live in Missouri and saw one very similar today...........shinier blue less pronounced wing markings and the same size as the yellow finches at the finch feeder.     Bunting or finch?

Stevec, I would say yours is the adult male indigo bunting.

That's an indigo bunting!  One of my favorite visitors.  Put out a finch feeder with thistle seed and you'll have gold finches and indigo buntings like crazy -- nothing brightens your day like the constant, colorful back-and-forth!
