That would be a domestic Swan goose.

Can you elaborate Barredowl? I plan on going to Utah Lake this weekend and I am really curious about this bird.

Purple- I actually saw this on the south side of the lake, but if you want a really cool place to birdwatch take the little dirt road that goes around provo airport. You'll see tons of different waterbirds, blackbirds, etc. To get there you take Provo Center St. west almost all the way out to the lake, and there is a little dirt road that goes off to the left before you get to the parking lot at the lake, right before the bridge. Maybe you already know all this stuff, but just thought i'd recommend it because its my favorite place to go. Good luck!

No I don't know this at all, thank you so much! I always go to the same spot and I don't often see MUCH. I did get an ok picture of a Bald Eagle in February. I also got some really cool pics of a Kestral, if you want I will make a seperate thread on the general board, I don't know if you care that much though...LOL I just like to talk about birds!

But I will try that for sure.

 
While we are sharing, my favorite place to go and it is AWESOME is in Draper, there is a trail by the Jordan River. Everytime I go there I see a new bird. This is where I saw the Cedar Waxwings and the American Avocet on mothers day. So, if you are ever in the Draper area or if you are interested it's here on the Wasatch Audubon website:
