Black and White Warbler - maybe

reopening this thread. identification was never made.

About once or twice a day I see a bird on my feeder that resembles the Black and White Warbler except that its breast is predominately black while all the pictures of the Black and White Warbler show a predominately white breast.  It has the front-to-back white stripes over the eyes, and in the wings and breast like all the pictures show.  When I used the wonderful Whatbird attribute search, nothing comes close except the Black and White Warbler.

btw, I use Wild Bird Centers Patio Mix in my feeder.  This is a mixture of sunflower chips, hulled millet and peanut pieces.  I live in the northeastern Atlanta suburbs.

Could it possibly be a black throated grey warbler?

I thought I had a black and white warbler because no other description fit, but then I learned from the nice folks on this board that it was a female red-winged blackbird. Once they told me that, I looked it up, and sure enough, it was a perfect description.

rdatkins, thank you so much for your help.  unfortunately there are two problems with the black throated grey wabler.  first, i live in the atlanta area of greorgia and that bird is a west coast bird.  second, it has the same problem with the predominately white breast.  look at the picture in Whatbird.com.  you could describe it as a white breast with black streaks.  the bird i see has a breast with markings similar to its wings, i.e. black breast with white streaks.  it's like a starling with streaks over the eyes, in the wings and in the breast.  tried to take a picture of it this morning.  *&^*$& camara batteries need replacing.

Jean, thanks for your help.  i get red-winged blackbirds on and around my feeder so i'm familiar with both the male and the female.  the bird i'm seeing looks more like a cross between a starling and the pictures i see of the black and white warbler.
