    Bird egg identification

I recently discovered two hatched eggs in my yard that are about the size of chicken eggs and are blue in color. They were on the ground - no nest and appeared to have tumbled from trees as my property is wooded. I live @ 1/8 mile from LI Sound on Long Island New York and my neighborhood is fairly rural. They are certainly too big to be backyard bird eggs - are they some type of waterfowl egg?

    Safreund,

I see that you have 2 other posts started on this same thing.  You can reply to the other posts and keep it going rather than starting a new post.

Here's a link to one of the previous posts.

Can you get a picture of the egg shells to post?

Do you see waterfowl in your area? I see you live 1/8 mile from LI Sound.

    Hope this helps.

    Nancy

I would say water birds even go so far as to say they are Duck eggs.

Back on the farm in New zealand the ducks whether they where dom or wild Mallards and greys layed either a pale blue or a blue green egg
