    Not interested in Grape Jelly

    Help!

I put out grape jelly almost 3 weeks ago and have gotten Zero interest by the birds and none by the ants.  I put it in a glass container about 3" deep that sits in a holder level to the post.

I just changed to orange marmalade hoping to attract some Oriole's.  I live in NJ and the area where the jelly is located is out in the open.

    What am I doing wrong?

I have never heard of using grape jelly to attract birds.  Which kinds are you trying to attract, besides orioles. I put out suet, sunflower seed , nyger seed, and a hummingbird feeder.  I get several species visiting.

I've heard about using jelly but I haven't tried it yet. I think your doing all that is right though. I have read that you can buy an adapter to put on the jelly jar to attract the birds. Its like a plastic ring made to look like a bright colored flower. It just screws on. Only certain birds are will eat jelly. Good luck.

Orioles seem to love the grape jelly...  But, I wouldn't set up a jar with the adaptor that screws on... I had heard, I think here at the store site that there have been birds that got caught in the jelly jar and died... And I believe they may have discontinued  that item untill further investigation....
Did they get you to trade, your hero's for ghosts?
