Image sharpening for effect and for the web

For those of you who have Photoshop CS3 or elements that can use smartobjects I have made up an Action that you can run on any person animal or bird image it will sharpen for effect then run a noise reduction then within an imbedded smartobject then it will resize for the web and do a final sharpen for the web display plus make sure the color space is the best one for the web.

I f there are some who don't have CS3 but earlier photoshop versions let me know and I will modify my action so you can use it earlier versions of photoshop.

here is where you can down load it http://thekiwi.org/Dave/ it will be the last one in the list called sharpen for effect if you need instructions on how to use an action ask and will put up a tutorial

Hi I assume you just drag this into the adobe/CS3/presets/actions  folder?  Do you need to convert the picture to a smart object first?

you can leave the action anywhere on your harddrive all you have to do is load it into the actions

to do that you open PS  if the actions pallett isn't showing up go to the menu bar click on windows then look for actions it will be at the top click on that and it will show the actions pallett you can dock it with other pallets  such as the history pallet .

on the right top side of the actions pallett there is an icon with 3 horizontal lines and an uoside down triangle beside it click on that that will open the actions menu look for load actions it will bring up dialog box for you to select the action you want to load and to tell PS where it is (just like the browse for a file to upload tothe web).

To run the action bring the image into photoshop click on the actions tab

find the action you just loaded (sharpen for effect) click on the down arrow to open it click on for people animals birds to hilight it and then at the base of the actions pallet there is a play button  right pointing triangle just like you will see on dvd player you click that and it will go off and do all the work for you from start to finish all you need to do is save the result as jpg

Depending on your computer ram and speed it may appear at times that your image has gone don't worry it is still there the computer is catching up with photoshop as photoshop caches as it goes

This looks intriguing. I would love to read a tutorial on how to use it and how it works.
