My video Tutorial on Sharpening for effect

Ok folks I made a tutorial on how I sharpen images with my 3 step  edge mask sharpening this is for Photoshop CS3 if you have an eariler version you will need to use layers instead of the smart objects.

I will also explain what i mean by the 16.67%,33,3% and the 66.67 are bad sizes to work with will editing an image not the end result as I feel some of you are confused with but while doing your edits ok.

The action that I wrote named sharpen for effect.atn is availible at the same down load site it does what I have done in this tutorial so you can use the action or you can do each step as I have explained and why I did each step in the video

here is The Link     http://thekiwi.org/Dave/  I ask that you forgive the coughs and the splatters on the video as I haven't been to well of late and I hope you all can understand basic Kiwi

Sorry the file is quite large it is approx 36MB

good luck hope it works for you

    Regards Peter

Re: My video Tutorial on Sharpening for effect

I see a number of folks downloaded both my video and my action for sharpening

Some feed back would be appreciated with these two items as alot of time went into producing them also if there are questions on howto's with Photoshop and I know the answer I will be more than happy to pass it on I don't profess to be a Photoshop guru but certain things I have picked up on and I am more than willing to pass that on

    Regards Peter

I think you did a pretty good job considering the subject. I think the video woud be improved if you had a script to work from, as there are a lot of places where nothing happens. I also think you should put it on youtube so it streams and then provide a link to it - that way you are not asking people to download a very large video before they can view it. But I think I speak for everyone when I say than you for all the hard work you did here.

    Thank you Mitchell

I can set it up to stream from my web site that is not a problem at all I was attempting to acheive a video that was not to big but could be refferenced at any time untill one managed to master the edge masking tech. as it is quite involved as you can see some times nothing appears to happen as PS is working to complete a command that is an issue with smart objects the miore involved Or bigger they get the longer it takes to complete a task hopefully adobe will address that problem in later additions of PS.

You could open the video in Camtasia and cut out the time delays when nothing is happening, but I am sure you are petered out working on this, especially at such low wages :)
