    Is This An Osprey?

    Attachment: P1100173a.JPG

Today I was at Shark River in NJ and saw this large bird, hawk-like head but with much thinner and longer wings.  It was gathering up twigs and bringing them to a nest on top of a power transformer.  I am going to post 3 pictures (sorry but I don't know how to do it in the same post)

Thanks in advance for the help

3rd Picture - I think there is at least one other bird in the nest

That is definitely an Osprey- we have them nesting here at the lake. Great pics!

Yep, definitely an Osprey. Amazing how they can build such a big sturdy nest on a flat platform!!
