    Alaska Quiz 5

I haven't posted for awhile as I have made several trips up the river and here and there.  Thought this most pelagic species of its family might be a challenge.  If you post, help educate others.  What diagnostics did you use to id the bird?

A Red Phalarope - beautiful bird.

There really isn't anything else that looks anything like this.

Right on, this is a Red Phalarope, the most pelagic of the phalaropes coming onshore to breed.
