Help me identify unusual bird on my deck

I live in Northern New Jersey.  The bird has an orange cone shaped beak.  There is an

orange crown on it's head. The body is on the small side, around 5 to 7 inches.  The wings

I believe are pointed and brown with some orange feathers mixed in and there are orange feathers

in the tail.  It's eaten a pistachio nut and some pumpkin seeds I left out.  I've never seen anything

like it before and I'm new to bird watching.

Sounds like a female Northern Cardinal.  Does it look like this?

It's very similar.  The color is more orangey but I think that's it!

Colors will vary from bird to bird.
