Help Id! Some sort of Thrush maybe??

    Attachment: IMG_5633_Resized.JPG
Hi everyone. I took this picture in my backyard in May but forgot about it and just found it again today. Please help me ID this bird. White breast with dark brown spots, light brown back, well, you can see the picture.  I thought it might be some sort of Thrush.

    Dovekie,

I'm not sure, but I think it may be an Ovenbird.  I think I can see a dark stripe on its head and the rest of the coloring, bold streaks of dark spots on the underside, and white eyering all seem right.  The spots on the breast seem too streaky for a thrush.

We'll see if anyone else agrees.

Ovenbird looks good to me too. I think I can detect a trace of the russet crown stripe on its head.

Hey, yeah! I just looked at another picture of an ovenbird and I think you guys are right! Thanks so much! (it's an extra nice surprize because 1) it's hard to see and 2) I love to bake). ^_^

They are usually turning over leaves on the ground. Don't know if everyone knows this but they make a nest like a little oven on the ground.

They have a very distinctive song too. "Teacher TeaCHER TEACHER!"
