    Re: Firefox Beta

Its working great on two of my machines. Only suggestion would be to provide quick links to the various other features of the WhatBird site such as these forums or the bird expert.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - you are officially the first person to give me any feedback and I am pleased to hear you got it working.

We are close to releasing an update that will include the ability to search by location. When there is a new update Firefox will automatically alert you.

Let me know if  you have any suggestions for improvements.

    Re: Firefox Beta

I received an update notice for the firefox version of the winged toolbar.  I uninstalled version 0.8.  In trying to install version 0.9, I receive the following message.

WhatBird.com Winged Toolbar 0.9 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 2.0.0.16. (WhatBird.com Winged Toolbar 0.9 will only work with Firefox versions from 2.*.*.* to 3.*.*.*)

Hmm. Doesn't make any sense to me.

    Re: Firefox Beta

That IS strange. We just moved the toolbar to a production folder and perhaps the version you had got confused. My suggest is to uninstall the previous version then go back to the web site and download and install the FF version (you pick Firefox now when downloading).

Even tho it will appear to be the same its not, the update comes from a different folder. I think  this will correct the problem. In the future when you do an update you don't need to uninstall the previous version, that will be done automatically.

We are close to releasing the Firefox toolbar that has 3 search attributes: Location, Color and Shape. Should be any day now.

    Re: Firefox Beta

I have two computers both running firefox.  Both machines were updated to Winged Toolbar 1.1.   On one machine I get the filter box (thank you, thank you), but on the other machine I do not.  Any explanation?

Machine that does not get the filter link or box:

Windows XP Pro version 2002 SP 2

    Firefox 3.0.1

    Re: Firefox Beta

2wolf21: this is probably because some changes were made to any of the toolbars (or just a version conflict). Please right-click on the toolbar, click "Customise" - "Customise Toolbar" window will appear. There you'll see a Filters selector - drag it to the toolbar, and place right before the version label. That will place the "filters" label to the toolbar. Clicking on it will bring up the dialog where you can choose filters you want.
