Need help identifying the bird in this gallery:

These pics were taken at sunset, so the color cannot be trusted.  My first impression was Northern Mockingbird.  I always identify a mocking bird by its gray color, its many calls and/or those bold white bars in its wings and tail that flash when it flies. 

Can't trust the color due to warm sunset lighting. Bird didn't sing while I was there.  Never saw it fly. 

What's a birder to do?  I know.  I'll ask WhatBird regulars for help.

Thank you all for the confirmation.  It was the apparent brown color that made me doubt my first impression.

I knew that I would hear from some more of my Southern peers.  The Mockingbird is the State Bird of several Southern States.

Yeah, it is and there was an effort in Florida to change ours to the Florida Scrub Jay, but the effort never really went anywhere...wish it had
