The Scissor tailed flycatcher's tail is amazingly long. The name "scissor-tailed," is derived from the male's habit of opening and closing the gap between his long tail feathers during courtship flights. The rollercoaster like courtship ritual often includes dazzling backward somersaults that enhance the beauty of the male's tail.
It's very interesting.
