We had this guy as a suprise when my four year old daughter and I went for our daily walk.

We tried to avoid the area he was in the second time but found him again.  It was a very educational day for my daughter.

There were lots of birds around this weekend but the hummingbirds weren't coming to the feeder I was set up for. So while I waited and hoped for a hummer, I played with the reflection of the trees and sky in the feeder. It's funny the things that'll amuse a guy with a camera when he's not shooting birds...LOL

I took this flower pic for my wife the other day and didn't discover the "bonus" until I processed it.  If anyone should know the name of the flower, please let me advise.

Actually, they are mostly cedars in the refection, Matt.

TL BRYANT - looks like blue flag or Iris family, but I can't say for sure since there's more than 300 varieties.

I love the chipmunk photo cwj. This guy is my backyard sweeper, but he's only interested in peanuts and sunflower seeds so eventually I broke down and put some out for him in one pile next to the compost for easier clean up. Geez I'm old...

"Somebody help!  I have to get away from this human with the weird clicky boxy thing!"

I must have taken 8 or 9 frames of this poor guy before he finally made it into the water.  Unfortunately, the water was a bit shallow there, so he ended up face first in the mud, with his shell still halfway out of the water!  I felt bad for him, but not enough to keep from laughing out loud when it happened!

    Re: No Birds Around so-----

I can imagine him grinding his little hind legs, vroom vroom, only to go nowhere. In Central CA our turtles jump really quick into the water. I see them sunning, then when I walk by suddenly they're flying off logs as I go around the lake. Did you know that Western Pond Turtles hibernate under a few feet of mud during winter? I know, more useless trivia. I need to get out more.
