My mother called from Northern Iowa yesterday ecstatic that she had a small (3.5") bluebird w/ a brilliant yellow bill eating at her feeders. I called a local birder friend who stated it had to be a Indigo Bunting, however, they do not have a yellow bill and that most likely lighting was a factor in the color. When a birder friend of hers came over and saw it he thought at first it was an indigo bunting, however, it was much too small. As soon as I got to work today I started researching and found your posts. Are we still sure this is an indigo bunting w/ the number of posts from people saying it was a yellow bill?
