    Grackle put on Pause

I swear, it's like it's playing "Red light, green light" and no one is there to say Green Light.

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to birds, but this seems like the perfect place to talk about Birdy.

Meet, Birdy (Original name, I know)

Grackle, I think.... right? Anyway, here is Birdy's story:

Birdy doesn't move. He/she is amazingly well tempered and friendly. Birdy is in the backyard of a friend of mine and she told me all about it. She can pet birdy, pick him/her up... it doesn't snap at her or anything and is just as calm as can be, but will not move for any reason. Every now and then it opens it's beak and look around like expecting a parent to come feed it, but we believe him/her to be full grown (we think it's a female, but... not sure)

It's been a few days and Birdy is the same. Except my friend moved him/her to the grassy area of her back yard and:

    "

ok, I'll try that. here's another weird thing. we put her on the grass, since they seem to be ground feeders and another grackle came over, jumped on her back and started poking at her and also seemed to be pushing her head down? She turned as if to defend herself and the other one got off and moved away, but seems to be staying close and keeps doing that poking thing, and then jumps on her and seems to be scratching her back? It didn't seem like the other one was trying to hurt her though....not sure what to make of that behavior, unless maybe it knows she's not well? she keeps coming back and doing that same thing over and over....wonder what that's all about? Any ideas?"

    So.. any ideas?
