Yesterday, here in Central New Jersey, I spotted my first hummingbird of the season. I was refilling my feeders after work, when what I initially thought was a leaf floating by turned out to be a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. He went over to my azalea bush, and I ran inside to clean my hummingbird feeders and fill them. I even started dinner late just for that reason!! In less than an hour he'd found the feeder. He's about a week earlier than last year.
