I'm new to bird watching and am trying to identify a bird I've seen a few times in my backyard. It's fairly solid brown with lighter underside, a little bigger than a sparrow with long tail and yellow beak. Seems to have darker area around the eye. Walks/runs rather than hops. A fairly slender, rather than round bird. I'm sure it's common, but I don't know anything. I live in the Phoenix area. I've been feeding a seed mix and putting out fresh water every day, so I'm getting a lot more birds than I used to.
