And it didn't freak out when I went near it. It just kinda stayed still which is why I was a little creeped out. Yea, I fed it a raspberry because I have a raspberry bush in my backyard but I already found its beak like that. Plus it's got a weird boil or something on its wing.

Uhh....we actually brought it inside last night and it kept leaving its mouth open like it wanted food or something but it didn't want anything except water. We left it in a little cage and it chilled for the night, cause there's no way that thing was gonna be alive what with all the cats in our neighborhood.

tl;dr: It died in the morning. It was squriming around, so we brought it outside and kinda gave its last breath. I buried it in our backyard. Poor birdie

Re: What kinda bird is this?

I'm not sure that's blood. Do you by any chance have raspberries or other fruit in your yard the bird might have been eating?

Re: What kinda bird is this?

I agree with what Ephily says. Looks like it smacked its head somehow and got a bit of a "bloody nose", so to speak. It would benefit most by being left alone to recover in peace. Though if you do need to handle it for any reason (like to move it out of reach of outdoor pets), make your contact with it very minimal so that YOU don't make IT sick or stress it during its injured state. And wear gloves if you have any and wash your hands afterward. Simple as that!

Re: What kinda bird is this?

It's a young bird, perhaps some sparrow or thrush. It will not eat you, and I doubt it has AIDS, or any diseases for that matter. The blood is probably due to its smacking against a window or something, or maybe it was attacked by some other bird. It looks like it could heal and will be fine if you leave it alone.

What kinda bird is this?

I found it in my backyard.
