Sorry, birdseye, I just got around to reading pg. 25 in my manual. I don't remember having set my camera to any particular drive before, as this pg. suggests, I simply depressed the shutter button and it would quickly take continous pictures. After reading page 25 I decided to set the drive to Hi 1. I did take a few pics this evening of the cardinals and WT Sparrows and it did take continuous pics but in a different way than before but it worked. Thanks for the input

hey Valleygirl..... on page 25 of your manual outlines the restrictions for burst shooting... try shooting in the "p" mode....it allows all funtions of the camera, where some like the SCN group limit alot of them...this includes the auto...i have had that camera, and it is a very good one... and your pictures are showing you are getting the hang of it.. keep em comming.. good luck

Olympus SP550UZ

Anyone out there have an Olympus SP550UZ? I would like to hear what settings you use for taking bird pictures particularly at full zoom. I do not have extra lenses or a tripod. To me, the manual is not very user friendly and I usually have more questions than answers after referring to it.

At one point I was able to depress the shutter button and take continuous pictures but after awhile I had the settings messed up or something so I went back to the default settings and have not been able to do that since. I typically just use Auto or I may select a Scene or Guide setting depending on the situation. I have not really adjusted the aperture or shutter settings because I'm not sure what they mean and the manual is not much help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
