This message board is pretty quite here, which makes me assume that the toolbar is working fine.

The Sort Mode selection was not being remembered when the browser was closed and reopened. It now remembers the last mode you set (first-last, or last-first)

First letter disappearing in the bird name field. This is an odd behavior where you put the cursor in the text box and type and that letter then disappears. I would appreciate if anyone has seen this behavior lets me know. You can reply to this message.

Feel free to dump all over the toolbar if you dont like it.

I was wondering if there are plans for the toolbar for either Safari for Mac or Firefox for Mac. I find it funny that you have it for the iPhone, but not for the iMac. ;)

Dear fellow birders

As several of you know we developed a toolbar for the Firefox browser which allows searching the whatbird database with up to three filters: state, shape and color. It opens a species page in a new tab by just typing the birds name.Here is a page that shows how it works and lets you download it:

The people at the Mozilla foundation require that I provide public comments in order to nominate it for inclusion in there database. I would be very grateful if any of you would give the toolbar a try and then leave you comments here in this thread. The toolbar is super easy to install and can be found here:

The toolbar can be disabled or removed easily. I appreciate your taking the time to help us out.

I've just started using the Toolbar and I think it's great. Here are two things that would be helpful:

1. The ability to filter birds by size.

2. A gallery that displays thumbnails of birds that fit criteria entered. This would allow quick comparison and identification.

If either of these functions are already available, please let me know. Otherwise, consider them for future upgrades of the toolbar.

Winged Toolbar Problem Report

I'm having a little problem with the toolbar. It appears the sort mode is defaulted to "First, Last". I have tried changing it to "Last,First" but it won't stay that way. Each new window that opens or even after I shut down and log back on in the morning it has switched back to "First,Last" sort mode. Can you fix that?

I'm also finding it a little inconvenient that when I want to search I not only have to select the bird name but also have to go over to Birds of North America to get it to search. can you take that step out?
