    One from the cheap seats

    Attachment: panel.jpg
I was methodically going through some old pictures and found what I think is a Pileated Woodpecker.  If it holds up its a lifer.  Taken last September on Sanibel Island, FL.  Amazing what a year's worth of reading this forum will do to your bird perception.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Hi Matt!

I know I'm brand new on the forums but I'd definitely say yes!  Cool sighting ; )  As far as I know, Pileated is the only woodpecker with a crest besides the Ivory.

Did it make a noice? The pileated makes the most unusual noise.

    It's undeniably a pileated.

This was back in the day when I was too naive to be listening closely.  Not anymore.  Thanks all for the confirmation.
