    Please identify this loud bird

    Hi All,

Below is an audio capture of the bird in question. The sound was recorded on 3/11/2009 in Melbourne, Australia.

    bird.mp3 - 0.06MB

This bird wakes us up at 5am every morning, and is very loud. Is there anything that can be done about it?

    Thanks!

I couldn't hear your tape, but look up Kookaburra.  They are native to Australia and VERY LOUD.

Can't hear the sound either, but there sure are A LOT of loud birds native to Australia, Cockatoos, other parrots... the kookaburra Snowy suggested... Try to get a picture of him if you can...

I think I hear the sound... I certainly don't hear anything that sounds like a Kookaburra there, but I do hear something that sounds like a Cockatoo.

Thanks. I'll try to get a better recording of it. It's definitely not a Kookaburr, I know what that sounds like :)
