    Male and Female Redheads?

    Attachment: 092.JPG
Got lucky today - found a couple of Redheads at wetlands in Huntington Beach, CA.  I don't really need an ID as they are obviously Redheads but is one a male and one a female?  Since there were only the 2 of them I figured they were a "couple"

Nah they're both males... The difference could be due to lighting, or perhaps one is still molting into his plumage a little bit. But they're definitely both males, females are (as in most ducks) fairly drab.

Ok, thanks.  The "girls" must have been somewhere else at the time.
