FINALLY A MEMBER OF THE CEDAR WAXWING CLUB!!!!

    Attachment: 082.jpg

I have to brag...I finally got my Cedar Waxwings!!!!  I was at the place this morning and again on my lunch hour.  I took about 100 pics but this is one of the better ones.  Will have to go through them later, and I'll go back on the weekend to take more pics.

Thank you everybody who helped me in my Cedar Waxwing quest!!

Re: FINALLY A MEMBER OF THE CEDAR WAXWING CLUB!!!!

Thanks - one thing about them I've noticed - they are VERY hyperactive!  They don't like to sit still for long; it was hard to get good shots of them as they would fly to another spot just as I had my camera focused!!!

Way to go - we knew you would do it?  That one seems dark to me - or is it my computer?

It could be slightly dark; I still need to adjust the exposure when I get home, plus I have about 100 pics to weed through from today.

Congrats! And a good, close up shot at that! Looks nearly eye-level, most Cedar Waxwings I see are high up in the trees.

Re: FINALLY A MEMBER OF THE CEDAR WAXWING CLUB!!!!

Thanks, Kryptos!  When I went there in the morning, they were all high up in the trees but when I went back at lunch, they were moving back and forth from the trees to the berry bushes/trees, which aren't as high up.  This wildlife sanctuary has a LOT of berry trees and bushes.

Beautiful shot Curlybird.  These are one of my favorites, but I only have a few fuzzy pics of them so far. Congratulations on your newest bird.

Re: FINALLY A MEMBER OF THE CEDAR WAXWING CLUB!!!!

Thanks; I thought I would have to go back several times before I got a decent shot, but these little guys were fairly cooperative.  Also, there were about 100 of them so I had a lot of shots to choose from.  I'm still going through my pics right now, and there are more bad ones than good!

Re: FINALLY A MEMBER OF THE CEDAR WAXWING CLUB!!!!

I responded to another thread you posted CW pictures to - but just want to say (Again) Congrats on the Waxwings.   Great job..

:)    You have some great shots - they are such photogenic birds..   they are so unique and so polished that it's hard not to adore them..

My Avatar is a Cedar Waxwing too..  it's hard to tell from the tiny picture..  but it was also my choice of bird to put up there.

Thanks again - I just changed my Avatar to another (closer) shot of a CW after going through all my photos from today; it hasn't kicked in yet but should soon.
