    Chipping or Tree Sparrow?

    Attachment: _SP95041.jpg

I can't tell if this is just a shadow on the breast or a dark spot.  At any rate, I can never distinguish my sparrows from each other.  My guess is it's a chipping, but is that correct?

    Thanks for the help!

This is a chipping, based on the dark eye line that runs right through the eye to the beak.  Also tree sparrow have more colour at the shoulder and the flanks.

Tree sparrows also have a bicoloured bill and greyer faces.
