    I need help identifing bird.

    Hi there,

We have seen a new bird in our area. It is a medium rust color all over and about the size of a robin but more slender. We live in Pennsylvania, in the country with some farms with mostly corn and also some wooded areas. We have an array of feeders out with many different things in them - black oil sunflower seeds, suet cakes, fruit and nut seed mix, thistle, and a common wild bird mix. Allthough we haven't actually seen the bird feeding we have seen it nearby and never before now. The feeders are something new for us and have only been out a few months.

We hope someone can help us identify this lovely bird of such an unusual color.

    Thanks!

Sounds like it could be a veery.  Like the robin it is a thrush, robin-shaped, slightly smaller and more slender, with a rust head, back, wings, and tail, although the underside is light-colored.
