    SOLVED!yellow beak/bluebird

after chasing this little guy around and around, i have managed to snap a fairly clear picture of the fabled "yellow-beaked blue bird"!  Seems he belongs to a renagade group of indigo buntings who, by wearing the colors of a south american gang of birds and commiting horrendous crimes here in the states, hope to shift the blame to that gang.! Finally the truth is known.

     you're welcome.

(this is just a joke man....seems everyone was getting really serious, and semi-confrontational in that other forum...laugh)

What "photoshoping"??? are you insinuating that this photo isnt authentic?

Ah - the elusive yellow-Madonna-strap-on-boob-cone-indigo-bunting-finch bird, found only in the tropical rainforests off the northern shores of Iceland. Extremely shy and difficult to capture on film. Great photo!

Cute pic.  I don't see a problem with a little humor either.  On the other hand I am one of those who thought she saw an Indigo Bunting w/ Yellow bill/Yellow Billed Blue Finch.  I have found a bird which looks to me like a closer possibility in our area to what I thought I saw.  If you do a search for a Blue Bunting you will see a bird that looks similar to the bird I saw.  It is darker than the IB and more uniform in color.  I thought I saw a Yellow Bill, but I suppose that it could be the light which made it look so.  However, the BB has not been spotted as far NE as we are (Maine).  The IB just doesn't look like our bird, but anything is possible.

    Re: SOLVED!yellow beak/bluebird

This whole topic is getting tiresome. Like everyone else who claims to have seen this mystery bird, you have not obtained and submitted a single photograph - not even a poor one - to support the claim. Until someone produces a photograph the claim will have to remain just that - a claim.

Did you look into the possibility of the Blue Bunting at all?  I'm not trying to claim anything.  Just trying to talk to someone who might be willing to help me in my search.

I think the pic hilarious! And a little humor would go a long way in making everyone feel a little bit more comfortable here.

Wasn't that Blue bugger on the list of America's Most Wanted?   Rotten little bugger takes (steals) your breath away and then disappears into the mean streets of someone else's backyard.
