i recently heard a new bird call. i heard it for 3 days and then nothing. the call sounded like     teacher tia teacher tia tia teacher. some one sugested it was an ovenbird. but i listened to the call of an oven bird and it was nothing like it. i live in wetern pennsylvania in the country.  the call was very distinctive.

The loud "teach-ER, teach-ER, teach-ER," call is indeed an ovenbird, although it can vary some.  If what you heard is something else entirely, it would help to know what the habitat was.  Up in a tree, woods, leafy forest floor, wetlands, etc. Just a hunch, but try the chestnut-sided warbler.

Could it have been the "peter peter peter" call  of the Tufted titmouse?

    Re: new bird call

Sometimes a male Baltimore Oriole sounds like this, but it is difficult to find recordings of orioles, because they almost always have a varied song. :-)

Perhaps it could be a Northern Cardinal, or like Enchilada suggested, a Tufted Titmouse?

    Re: new bird call

I would stick with Tufted Titmouse, the "tia" in between sounds a lot like them, but what I usually hear is "Peter Peter Peter......... tia! tia! Peter Peter Petere" Something similar to that.
