    "Exhaustive Area Count"

It sounds self-explanatory but, for example, a birding walk around the block cannot include the backyards/private property.

    How is this done?

Could you possibly knock on their door?  Maybe some people wouldn't mind you watching/looking for birds in their back yard.  And it could be a great way to get to meet your neighbors.  The most harm they could do is not answer the door or just say no.

You never know what new relationship you might start and you could also start someone looking at/for birds in the process.

    It's worth a try, isn't it?
