I'm commenting on the content/illustration for the page entry for Williamson's Sapsucker; I hope I'm in the right spot. Since the female was once thought to be a different species it seems amiss to not show an illustration of the female as well. I recently saw my first Williamson's .....a female-or-imm on out-of-range migration. It may spend the winter and I want to see how it might change if it is a male?? My field guides are all in storage. Do males have white coverts from the get go, I wonder?
