Have you thought about a general discussion forum area or possibly other wildlife or other nature discussions and sharing?

No I had not thought of that. What do you think the content would be, in other words how would be desribe the purpose, what kinds of things would be discussed?

Sorry for the delayed response on this one Mitch. This is a very busy time of year for me.  When I go out to photograph I am seeking wildlife...not just birds...I wouldn't mind a discussion area where other wildlife or nature might be discussed and shared.  Here is a link to a recent backpacking/photography trip I took.  I wouldn't mind a discussion area where photos like these or a TR might be discussed or shared.  I did not get the opportunity on this trip to do much with birds.  I photographed the targets of opportunity that presented themselves.

I love the site here and I agree that it should be mainly birds.  I thought that those that use the site or visit might enjoy a side area where other nature might be discussed or shared and perhaps thrown out for identification help.  The frog/toad in the above link I have not yet identified.  It was very small...roughly dime sized.  I briefly tried to ID it today and didn't find any toads that seemed to fit the photo.  I plan on a more detailed attempt as I have more time.  The pics above were taken early March 2006 at Torreya State Park in the Florida Panhandle.

    Thanks,                                                                                                                                               Robert

    Re: Other Discussions

I also have many photos of other wildlife, and enjoy sharing them.  BUT, I do not think WhatBird.com is the place for that.  As I understand it, this is a bird identification site.  It is very effective for that purpose, and I think it should remain true to its purpose.
