    Re: Indigo Bunting

I feel that the face looks goofy; it's eyes aren't really that big. Also, there's no actual hook in the beak and the beak should be paler.

    Thanks

I backyarded one of these last spring. I couldn't believe it! Only the second time in my life I seen one of these birds, and there were two of em!

Ah-ha, the face that launched a thousand posts about "mystery bird with yellow beak" ... not making fun of anyone here ... I had the same experience where I saw one and my first note I jotted down (I do this when I don't have my camera to keep from forgetting details) was "bicolored beak" and that it "looked a bit yellow" ... however, the same bird at a different angle revealed a darker beak than previously seen ... and at least I've had the luck of not only seeing this one, but also being able to see the Blue Grosbeak and have photographic proof to show my wife that the Grosbeak was not "another indigo bunting sighting"

We saw our first today.  Yay!!!  It was happily eating off the ground while we took pictures.
