    Helmeted Guineafowl?

    Attachment: unknown.JPG

This bird has been seen in Brazil. It has a beige and black plumage, a black crown and a white stripe in the face. My guess is that it is a Helmeted Guineafowl, but its plumage normally is white and gray.

    Thank you

Hard to do much with the photo and the sense of scale. Helmeted Guineafowl are from Africa and are common domestic birds, and there is actually one subspecies that has a white face, but I'm not convinced this is your bird either. There are a number of pheasants, guans, quails, and other birds that have a fairly similar color pattern, but I think it would take a better photo to make an identification. Sorry, this is a great question and I wish I could find the answer.
